As a result of a long journey in the active pursuit of music, I’ve come to the conclusion
that what I long for the most, is the journey.  

The journey inspires the melodies in my head and the pictures I want to paint through my
lyrics, that I can then express through my voice and my hands.  
  
What comes out, is handmade music. A product that comes from the most intimate place
within me.  
  
I want let you in and show you that place, and introduce myself to you with my first collection
in the most honest way possible.

My second song on Sound is another oldie.
Written in 2018, during a time where all I was writing was melancholic tunes, "Your Mother" stood out as a little tongue in cheek gem, ironic and direct at the same time.

I'm Italian and blunt. But I am also romantic, and just like many of us, I look for love. And so many times, when we think we found it, it turns out to be not what we expected. 

I do like to take things lightly though, and music allows me to do it even more. Melodies and lyrics help me turn something upsetting into something that makes me (and maybe others) smile.

This is a one take acoustic recording of my song "Your Mother" with my friend Ed Prosek on trumpet.
The art is once again hand drawn by my dad, Giuseppe, a Disney illustrator. He always manages to capture through his pencil the spirit (and this time the irony) of my songs better than anybody else.
The golden egg is even a little more scary ;)

Once again I feel so blessed that web3 allows me to put out songs that were written such a long time ago, and were never given a chance to see the light of day. Well now they can shine, and find a home with you guys.

I started writing songs at a very young age, and have written hundreds of them.
Many were not great, but many others I put a lot of effort and time in and have loved them ever since.

“By the Light of The Moon” is one that I have felt so deeply ever since it was written, and have never had the chance to put out. Why, you ask?
Well... because unfortunately in the “web2” way of making music, there is always someone telling you that that songs you write will not work, because of this or that reason. That they’re not pop enough, or they’re too personal, or whatever it is.

And yet you keep writing them, because deep down those songs are the ones that make you happy and they’re literally the only way you have to truly express how you feel.
You know that at some point the day will come where you will have the opportunity to share them with the world, and someone will resonate with them. You have faith.

So that is why I kept writing songs like this one, and even if no one would have ever heard it, it would have been for me.
But since starting my web3 journey, I realized that things work differently here. You need to be authentic and honest. The more you are you, the better.
And this brings me more joy than anything else.

I decided that my Sound genesis should be one of those songs that have been sitting in my hard drive collecting dust for years. It was written 5 years ago, but it’s never left my mind or my heart. And now more than ever, I resonate with the message, so I did a brand new recording of it.

“By the Light of the Moon” is a chant of hope. Things have been hard for many of us, many times. But sometimes all it takes is one glance at the moon, and everything seems a little better.
